Nino’s Bellissima,
890 2nd Ave., near 47th St
212-355-2355
Touted as the world’s most expensive pizza, this gourmet pie is made by “Nino’s Bellissima Pizzaâ€? The 12-inch pizza is topped with crème fraiche, chives, eight ounces of four different kinds of Petrossian caviar, four ounces of thinly sliced Maine lobster tail, salmon roe, and a little bit of wasabi to complement all the fish. The pizza will serve eight and costs a mere $1,000 … well that is about $125 per serving. Or you can buy a slice for $250. Either way, it requires 24-hour advance notice and for some odd reason, it doesn’t appear on the menu. For us real people Bellissima also chars some the best pizza in town at normal prices in a Italinate room with mosaic columns, colorful murals, on two levels, with a window that peeks into the more formal Nino’s Positano.

July 17th, 2007 — Expensive, restaurant reviews
Jewel of India Restaurant is within walking distance of Times Square and most of the Broadway theatres. Over the years, the internationally known Jewel of India has welcomed celebrities, world leaders, sophisticated, and adventurous people who were ready for something new. Today, it remains one of the last of a dying breed of traditional, solid Indian cuisine.
The décor provides a rich awakening of the senses with lovely mother of pearl walls and elaborate decor. The lighting is lovely, bright and illuminating in some areas, soft and subdued in others. Creamy marble and carpeted floors and several roomy booths make the spacious setting of Jewel appropriate for business meetings as well as romantic dinners.
The chef and the kitchen staff delve into their vast experience in Bombay’s top rated hotels to introduce such specialties as Lamb Chops, Tandoori Rack of Lamb, Prawns Bengal (Jumbo shrimps cooked with tangy mustard and chilli sauce), Clay Oven (Tandoori)-Tandoori Chicken, Chicken marinated in yogurt and mild spices, roasted in a clay oven.
Other “must haves” include Seekh Kabab-Minced lamb with onion and herbs roasted on skewers, Chicken Vindaloo-Boneless pieces of chicken cooked in a very hot and spicy curry, Chicken Tikki Masala-Tender chicken barbecued in the clay oven and then cooked with tomatoes and creamy sauce. All breads and desserts are excellent.
The Jewel of India Restaurant has a nicely appointed Party Room and also regularly caters to Parties for groups of 25 to 1000 guests.
