Dallas BBQ Celebrates National Hot Dog Month
With a Real “Foot Long

July is National Hot Dog Month and Dallas BBQ is celebrating in a big way-with a foot-long, half-pound, all beef, natural-cased, preservative-free frank. The Texas-style smokehouse hot dog is paired with choice of potato and either “Five-Beanâ€? barbecue baked beans ($7.99) or home made chili ($8.99). It’s a meal and change for most people.

The Dallas BBQ hot dog is currently available at the flagship location, 241 West 42nd Street, as well as in Chelsea, at the corner of 8th Avenue and 23rd Street.

Nearly 70 Years in Times Square for the Wetanson Family

The introduction of the over-sized hot dog comes with a bit of nostalgia for the father-son duo of Herb and Greg Wetanson, owners of seven Dallas BBQ’s in Manhattan and Brooklyn.

The Wetanson’s Times Square location is on the exact spot where Herb’s father, Carl Wetanson, opened “Grace’s Malteds,â€? a hot dog shop named after Herb’s mother, in 1938.

Dallas BBQ has been serving barbecue in New York for more than 25 years, specializing in tender baby back ribs and fresh off the rotisserie chicken.
