NEW BEACH ACCESS, RENOVATED VILLAS AND A NEW OCEAN VIEW FITNESS CENTER AND SPA WILL MARK ST. BART’S HÔTEL LE TOINY’S NOVEMBER 1 REOPENING
Hôtel Le Toiny, St. Bart’s luxurious 15-villa hideaway, announces a series of enhancements that will be available to guests beginning this November. The enhancements include a significant renovation of all the villas, the addition of an ocean view fitness center and spa cottage, along with the creation of a path leading to the beach. Hotel Le Tôiny’s Nov. 1 re-opening coincides with the Caribbean high season.
New General Managers Guy and Dagmar Lombard, who joined Hôtel Le Toiny in January 2008, have extensively revitalized this classically elegant property. A favorite escape for the rich and famous throughout its 16-year history, Hôtel Le Toiny offers the ultimate in privacy as each pastel-colored villa is set apart from one another on a hillside and comes with its own swimming pool.
In keeping with the Island’s French roots, each Villa reflects the French Colonial style that is part of St. Bart’s heritage. In 2009, further upgrades will include a significant renovation of the hotel’s lobby and Restaurant Le Gaïac restaurant.
In 2007, Hôtel Le Toiny was purchased by E.S. Development in Austin, Texas. Comprised of seven owners and investors, including noted Tour de France bicyclist Lance Armstrong, this classic St. Bart’s hideaway is being revitalized to maintain its allure while also responding to comments guests have made over the years. One significant change is that Hôtel Le Toiny will now have beach access.
A five minute stroll through a coconut grove will lead to the sea-shell dabbled beach favored by surfers. Two historic cottages can be found on the beach and the area is surrounded by an orchard of palm trees and an abundance of natural wildlife. Here, one can absorb the natural environment while enjoying on-site beverage service. An additional ocean side walking path was added and leads to the southern most tip of the Island. A 15-minute walk up a gently sloped, scenic trail offers splendid views of the Toiny Bay.
In the newly added Serenity cottage, 15 spa treatments featuring “Le Ligne of St. Bart’s†line of spa products, will be available. The adjoining fitness center, another first for Hôtel Le Toiny, will offer ocean views.
In keeping with St. Bart’s historic French colonial style, Dagmar and Guy worked with St. Bart’s interior designer Marielle De la Porte to create interiors that would recall the Island’s historic French ancestry and capture the colonial style of the Caribbean. Teak and mahogany furnishings and a selection of French toiles, most notably the Toile du Soleil from the Basque region, will enhance each guest room and will evoke St. Bart’s early settlers. Four distinct color schemes, in red, mauve, turquoise and blue, can be found in the revitalized Villas.
New room features include a 40-inch flat screen television with DVD, I-Pod docking station, wireless internet, headboard reading lights, new Frette bed linens, espresso machine, and a variety of electrical outlets. In addition, the hotel offers special amenities, such as pool toys, snorkeling gear, a DVD library and a fully stocked kitchenette.
