Swirl. Sip. Spit. Following the success of its inaugural New York event, The New York Wine Expo (www.NewYorkWineExpo.com) will be hosing its second annual tasting February 27 and 28 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. From New York, California and Oregon wines to French and Italian favorites the Grand Tasting, the centerpiece of the Expo, offers consumers the opportunity to sample more than 600 wines from over 170 winemakers from around the globe.

“For anyone that enjoys wine, casually or as a seasoned connoisseur, it’s a must attend event,” said Ed Hurley, New York Wine Expo Show Director. “The expo is a terrific opportunity to go beyond what you might feel comfortable ordering in a restaurant or purchasing in a store. Try tasting new blends and wines from different regions. You are bound to find some new favorites.”

Join us for an extraordinary opportunity to learn about wine first hand from Kevin Zraly, arguably one of the best known wine educators in the world. On Friday, February 27 at 6:00pm, Kevin will lead his highly acclaimed, fast-paced “One-hour Wine Expert” seminar and take attendees on a taste tour of Rieslings, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon wines. This seminar is sure to sell out quickly, so purchase your tickets early.

Also new to the Expo this year will be featured appearances from world renowned chefs and media personalities:

Ian Knauer, is the Food Editor at Gourmet Magazine and host of Gourmet’s Diary of a Foodie now in its third season on American Public Television. He is also the chef/owner of Kitchen Eats, a catering company which has garnered a client list of New York’s most celebrated foodies.

Martin Yan, is a certified Master Chef, and host of Martin Yan’s China. Martin is dedicated to promoting worldwide appreciation of Chinese and Asian cuisine and culture and is the celebrated host of over 3,000 cooking shows and a prolific cookbook author.

Chef Michel Nischan, is the host of American Public Television’s The Victory Garden, is the dynamic restaurant owner of Dressing Room in Westport, CT and an award-winning cookbook author. A proponent of sustainable farming, local and regional food systems and heritage recipes, Michel has long been a leader in the movement to honor local, pure, simple and delicious cooking.

Mark Oldman, is an internationally recognized wine expert, and author of the best-selling Oldman’s Guide to Outsmarting Wine. Mark also writes a wine column and chooses the wine picks for the magazine Every Day with Rachael Ray.

Every attendee will receive a souvenir glass at the Grand Tasting. In addition to the wine, the latest wine accessories will be on display and complimentary food samples will be offered.

Note: Sunday, March 1 is dedicated to the trade. Liquor licensees from throughout the region are invited to attend on Sunday along with attendees of the co-located International Restaurant & Foodservice Show of New York and other invited guests. The Wine Expo is not open to consumers on Sunday.
