Escape to a world of Brazilian delicacies at Churrascaria Plataforma, a Brazilian restaurant located in the theater district. It is a Rotissiere style steak house known for serving a wide variety of meats to each diner right at their table. Guest dine in succession at this lofty space with brick walls punctuated by mahogany capitals. There is lively Brazilian music at night and it is also one of New York’s cleanest restaurants and has been awarded with the”Golden Apple Award.” The meal actually begins at the all-you-can eat hot buffet (4 hot dishes) and generous salad bar. churrascaria plataforma

 

On our visit, there was a wonderful cod stew, seafood, rice & sausage and risotto, not to mention and array of fresh salads shrimp, sushi & smoked salmon. When they’re ready, guests turn two-sided tokens from red to green the feast begins, as skewered meats are passed around the room by an attentive waitstaff. There are some seven side dishes like fried bananas and fresh vegetables accompanying the Rodizio, the Brazilian way of serving different kinds of meats, that are slowly grilled and then sliced directly from the skewer onto the guest plate by skilled servers. Cocktails come to your table in the person of the caipirinha the tangy mix of sugarcane rum, sugar and muddled limes. Churrascaria Plataforma is not only New York’s first Churrascaria. It remains one of the most authentic in its seasoning and is certainly the best restaurant-show in the theater district. Fabulous wine list! Fabulous service! Fabulous food!
