JET AIRWAYS TO COMMENCE JFK-INDIA SERVICE

JET AIRWAYS TO COMMENCE JFK-INDIA SERVICE OCTOBER 28
Launch Adds Airline’s Second Daily Flight to New York

Jet Airways, India’s premier private sector airline, will commence daily service from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport to India on October 28, it was announced today by founder and chairman of Jet Airways’ Naresh Goyal. The JFK flights will be the airline’s second daily flight connecting New York and India: on August 5, Jet Airways launched its first ever transatlantic service with daily flights to and from New York’s Newark Liberty International Airport. On September 5, the airline also inaugurated service from India to Toronto.

“I think it’s fair to state that in the history of aviation,” observed Goyal, “no airline has ever launched three new long-haul routes in a span of three months, and I am immensely proud of the dedication of the Jet Airways team that has made this possible.”

All Jet Airways’ transatlantic flights are routed through the airline’s efficient hub at Brussels International Airport that enables travelers to fly seamlessly to and from JFK, Newark and Toronto directly to and from Delhi, Mumbai (Bombay) and Chennai (Madras). “It’s a fine-tuned operation,” says Goyal, “that has three wide-bodied aircraft from three cities in India landing virtually simultaneously in Brussels, and departing after a short layover simultaneously for three cities in North America - and vice versa…with passengers, and their luggage, switching effortlessly to the destination of their choice.”

Jet Airways flights to/from both New York airports are operated by Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, offering the airline’s First Class, Première Class and Economy Class. Flights to/from Toronto are operated by Airbus A330-200 with two-class service (Première and Economy).

The airline offers unprecedented levels of luxury, privacy and comfort in the air, including First Class suites with the world’s longest airline beds, private closets, dining tables for two, and 23″ flat-screens. Première (business) class pods offer what are considered the most comfortable Business Class seats in the sky that convert to 73″-long totally flat beds. Leg-room in Economy is more generous than the norm - and passengers in all three classes have access to the state-of-the-art Panasonic eX2 entertainment system, complete with 200+ movies, games and endless music choices - heard through Bose noise-cancelling headphones.

Naresh Goyal’s vision is that by 2010 the airline he founded in 1993 will be rated among the top five airlines in the world. “We have been working on these transatlantic plans for more than two years,” he observes, “and having changed the way people fly in India, we are now taking to the world our very own brand of service and style that bespeaks the spirit of New India.”

JET AIRWAYS: THE SPIRIT OF NEW INDIA
Jet Airways currently operates a fleet of 66 aircraft, including wide body Boeing 777-300ER’s and Airbus A330-200’s, classic and next-generation Boeing 737’s and ATR 72-500 turboprop aircraft. The airline also has 10 Boeing 787 Dreamliners on order. With an average fleet age of 4.89 years, the airline has one of the youngest aircraft fleet in the world. Jet Airways operates over 340 flights daily.

Flights to 53 destinations span the length and breadth of India and beyond, including New York (JFK and Newark), Toronto, London-Heathrow, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Colombo, Bangkok and Kathmandu. As additional wide-body aircraft are delivered, Jet Airways plans to commence service to more than a dozen cities including San Francisco, Chicago, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Johannesburg, the Persian Gulf and additional cities in Europe. Since the airline’s founding in May 1993, it has flown some 76 million passengers.
