Award-winning website, Punchin-dot-com, features the Walman Report and reviews of restaurants, travel, wine and theater. Celebrated Chef Kerry Heffernan’s signature Modern American cuisine comes alive in this stunning Tony Chi designed space that transforms from a casual morning patisserie to a sleek sky-lit lunch spot to a nighttime dining destination with twinkling lights and easy intimacy.
A beige and mauve color scheme adds a soothing effect. The sound tract, on the other hand could be more in keeping with atmosphere. Heffernan creates a distinctive and seasonally inspired Modern American menu, with such appetizers as Seared Foie Gras with Tarragon,Pears, and 5 spices and sparkling Hamachi with eucalyptus, lemon zest and garlic.
Standout entrees offer an impeccably sautéed red snapper in a gorgeous green celery ragout with white anchovies and lovage. Meat lovers must sample Rib of Beef both braised and roasted with spaghetti squash, allspice and Swiss chard. Morgon Larsson’s desserts are pretty as a picture and equally delicious. We loved the Passion fruit Meringue Tart with coconut sorbet and Chocolate Pot de Crème with an unusual chocolate Madeline.
Troy Weissman has assembled a wine list of over 700 bottles with a good selection by the glass and some excellent ½ bottles. An Alsatian Pinot Noir worked beautifully with both meat and seafood. Service is exceptional, under the direction of Hicham Enhaili. In South Gate, Central Park South will finally have the neighborhood restaurant it deserves! South Gate, 154 Central Park South, rates “A Major” on the Walman Report

The incredibly delightful Boat House Central Park Restaurant offers one of Manhattan’s most spectacular views. A mini-bus takes you gratis from 72nd street and 5th Avenue to the restaurant, where your elegant table overlooks the water and happy couples ride in authentic gondolas imported from Italy. Thanks to executive chef, Anthony Walton, the kitchen produces stylish food that is pretty as a picture and equal to some of Manhattan’s best restaurants. Appetizer favorites offer a fabulous house salad with lovely tomatoes, imported feta cheese and black olive vinaigrette. Filler-free Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes will make you swoon. Generous entrees include Grilled Atlantic Swordfish, sautéed with yellow wax beans in a shallot pan sauce and one of the best Dover Soles imaginable. JET AIRWAYS LAUNCHES NEW YORK TO MUMBAI SERVICE
Jet Airways will inaugurate transatlantic service on August 5, 2007 with the introduction of daily flights between New York and Mumbai. Jet Airways, traded on the Mumbai Stock Exchange, is the largest non-State-run airline in India. The airline is currently undergoing a $3.7 billion expansion – increasing its fleet by 20 new wide bodied Boeing 777 and Airbus 330 jets, with 10 Boeing 787 Dreamliners on order.
Even the most jaded travelers are impressed by the level of service, comfort and overall excellence on Jet Airways — a carrier considered at the forefront of shaping the world’s airline industry. No detail is overlooked – private First Class suites with sliding double doors, to the world’s largest first class beds (83") with an 8 point massage system, one of the longest and widest Premiere (Business) Class seats, ergonomically designed economy class seats – considered the most comfortable in the world — and a state of the art In- Flight Panasonic eX2 Entertainment system are just a few of the revolutionary ways Jet Airways is transforming passenger experience.
