FEINSTEIN’S AT LOEWS REGENCY

PRESENTS

MICHAEL FEINSTEIN

“THE SINATRA PROJECT”

WITH NEW YORK’S FINEST SWINGING 17 PIECE BAND

SEPTEMBER 2 – 6

FEINSTEIN’S AT LOEWS REGENCY, the nightclub proclaimed “Best of New York” by New York Magazine and “an invaluable New York institution” by The New York Post, will open its 10th Anniversary season with the return of the club’s founder MICHAEL FEINSTEIN for one week only, September 2 – 6. Musical Director Bill Elliott will lead a 17-piece band featuring Bucky Pizzarelli on guitar, Jim Saporito on drums, and David Finck on bass. September 2 will also mark the release of his new CD – The Sinatra Project from Concord Records – which collects the great romantic songs performed by “Ol’ Blue Eyes.” All shows take place at the Regency Hotel (540 Park Avenue at 61st Street).

“For years I’ve wanted to celebrate Sinatra’s musical sensibilities, but I have no desire to copy the classic songs that he rendered better than anyone else. I wanted to create an album that would explore his style of singing and his style of music” comments Feinstein. The album was recorded as it would have been fifty years ago, in the famous last surviving recording studio from the days of stereo, Capital Studio A in Hollywood. The CD is comprised of classics such as “Fools Rush In,” “I’ve Got a Crush on You,” “At Last Love,” “Exactly Like You,” and many more.

ACCLAIMED SINGER, ACTRESS & RADIO PERSONALITY

JESSICA MOLASKEY

CELEBRATES HER PS CLASSICS CD “SITTING IN LIMBO” AT BIRDLAND, NOVEMBER 13

FEATURING CLASSIC STANDARDS AND SONGS BY BILLY JOEL, STING, JIMMY CLIFF, PAUL SIMON, JONI MITCHELL AND MORE

WITH THE JOHN PIZZARELLI QUARTET

________________________________________

JESSICA MOLASKEY – the singing sensation, actress and radio personality – will perform selections from her new PS Classics CD, “Sitting in Limbo,” at the jazz club Birdland on November 13, 2007. The New York Times called the disc “a profound pop-jazz album that connects traditional American pop with the present in a way that has never been done before.” She will be joined by her husband, celebrated jazz guitarist and vocalist John Pizzarelli, along with Martin Pizzarelli on bass, Larry Fuller on piano and Tony Tedesco on drums. The club is located at 315 West 44th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues in Manhattan. Tickets are $30.00 and $40.00 each. For reservations, please call (212) 581-3080.

Jessica will return to Broadway later this season for the Roundabout Theatre Company’s revival of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s Sunday In The Park With George. Molaskey and Pizzarelli co-host the nationally syndicated program “Radio Deluxe with John Pizzarelli,” which is also available globally as a podcast at www.johnpizzarelli.com.

Since her debut recording Pentimento, and continuing with A Good Day, Make Believe and now Sitting in Limbo, Molaskey’s musical wanderlust has encouraged her to explore various styles drawing from jazz, Broadway, standards and contemporary material. Here her abundant virtuosity and eclectic musical vocabulary pairs the standards of Vincent Youmans and Harry Warren alongside more contemporary fare from Billy Joel, Joni Mitchell, Sting and Paul Simon, as well as two originals composed with her husband.

Winner of the 2007 Nightlife Award for Outstanding Female Vocalist, Molaskey is a veteran of a dozen Broadway shows, most recently A Man of No Importance at Lincoln Center. Other Broadway credits include Parade, Dream, Tommy, Crazy for You, Les Miserables and City of Angels. She has also appeared on the PS Classics’ recordings of Windflowers: The Songs of Jerome Moross, Fine & Dandy and John Bucchino’s It’s Only Life. Reviewers have compared her singing to Peggy Lee, Chris Connor, k.d. lang, and even Chet Baker. She has sung in concert at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, the Montreal Jazz Festival and more.

The CD is currently available on PS CLASSICS. The label, founded in 2000 by Tommy Krasker & Philip Chaffin, has made significant contributions to the heritage of American popular song through its critically acclaimed cast recordings (including the recent London revival of Sunday in the Park With George, as well as John Doyle’s Broadway production of Company and Grammy-nominated albums of Assassins and Nine: The Musical); solo albums by Jessica Molaskey, Christine Andreas, Jason Danieley & Marin Mazzie, Rebecca Luker – plus its popular reissue of Charlotte Rae’s Songs I Taught My Mother; songbook tributes to composers ranging from Billy Strayhorn to Maury Yeston to Jason Robert Brown; and recordings drawn from rare sound archives, including Sondheim Sings, Volumes I & II, and Charles Sings Strouse. PS Classics is distributed by Image Entertainment.

MARY CLEERE HARAN SINGS DORIS DAY

Monday, October 15th, 2007

FEINSTEIN’S AT LOEWS REGENCY

PRESENTS

MARY CLEERE HARAN

“SINGS DORIS DAY”

OCTOBER 16 – 27

FEINSTEIN’S AT LOEWS REGENCY, the nightclub proclaimed “Best of New York” by New York Magazine and “an invaluable New York institution” by The New York Post, will continue their Fall 2007 season with the return engagement of MARY CLEERE HARAN from October 16 – 27. The world premiere of her new show “Mary Cleere Haran Sings Doris Day” will celebrate the movies and music of the biggest female box office attraction in Hollywood history. All shows are at the Regency Hotel (540 Park Avenue at 61st Street).

The famously private legend refuses to speak about her remarkable career. Mary is one of the few people to have interviewed her: she wrote and produced the highly acclaimed PBS documentary, “Doris Day: A Sentimental Journey.” Mary did extensive interviews with Day herself, as well as with some of the star’s friends and fans: actor Tony Randall, film critic Molly Haskell, writer John Updike and Day’s son Terry Melcher. For her show at Feinstein’s, Mary will not only sing Doris’s praises, but will recount the time she spent with the star.

Mary will be performing songs from such films as The Man Who Knew Too Much (“Que Sera Sera”), Love Me or Leave Me (“It All Depends On You” and “Shakin’ The Blues Away”), Jumbo (“Why Can’t I”) and April in Paris (“That’s What Makes Paris Paree”), in addition to selections from the albums Day by Day (“I Remember You”) and Latin For Lovers (“Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps”). She will be joined by Musical Director Don Rebic on piano, Chip Jackson on bass and Jim Hirschman on guitar. The show is directed by Richard-Jay Alexander.

Doris Day, born Doris von Kappelhoff on April 3, 1924, remains unequaled as the only entertainer who has ever triumphed in movies, recordings, radio, and television. As America’s favorite girl-next-door she projected the kind of wholesome image that led Oscar Levant to quip, “I knew Doris Day before she was a virgin.” But Doris Day’s legacy as a great singer and gifted actress, defies definition. According to Haran, “Doris Day was a profound artist in suburban mom’s clothing.”

FEINSTEIN’S AT LOEWS REGENCY will play the following schedule: Tuesday through Saturday at 8:30 PM with late shows on Friday and Saturday at 11:00 PM. All shows have a $60.00 cover and a $40.00 minimum. Jackets are suggested but not required. FEINSTEIN’S AT LOEWS REGENCY is located at 540 Park Avenue at 61st Street in New York City. For ticket reservations and club information, please call (212) 339-4095 or visit us online at feinsteinsattheregency.com and TicketWeb.com.
