There were married. There they were born Anđelija and Luke. There have dreamed the dream of a small family vineyard, which they awoke Hurricane Ivan (Category V) in 2005, destroying the island and their home. Ms. Renee, after more than a week spent in extreme conditions, with children (then both younger than four years), was evacuated to Miami with patients for dialysis.Three months later in New York, where they then went on briefly visited them and Goran, day and night engaged in providing technical assistance to the sick and injured, to the establishment of health services on the island.

After four years spent in the United States, eight in the Caymans, six in South Africa, two in the Sultanate of Oman and three in China, where he worked as a physician, Dr. Goran Radević he and his wife decided that his dream of a vineyard dosanja in his native Montenegro. Although Dr. Radević first doctor in the family, not the first winemaker, and his genetics is replete with ancestors – winemakers.
– Maternal grandfather was a priest. He taught me to read and write, that I cut a branch, even before I went to school and passed my love of country. On his father’s side were herders.Grandfather Nicholas ’41. when the war broke out, he had 1,000 sheep. I inherited the land on both sides, and I lifted her vineyard. We built a house and seven years after our arrival in Montenegro, we are proud to 10,000 vines in the village Rogami, with Zeta in Pipers (7.5 thousand vines), around the family home (2.5 thousand), and for visitors to the open door of the winery "Radević" – an esthete Wines, about which I can talk only in superlatives – explains Dr. Radević.

According to him, the winery is surrounded by good people, and for the quality of wines in charge of the young engineer. Milena Mugosa and consultant oenologist – ing. Ivan Dašić, one of the leading technologists from the golden era of the former Agrokombinat "July 13th". Such an atmosphere has resulted in the success of the 82nd International Agricultural Fair in Novi Sad, where he was awarded all twelve wine samples sent to an evaluation (5 gold medals, 4 silver and 3 bronze) and two grape brandy (grappa), which won silver medal, a Winery "Radević" also won the championship title the Novi Sad Fair and 2015-.
Dr Goran Radević says he is not a man of competitions and awards. For this assessment came under the influence of Ing. Ivana Dašić, attracted by the fact that the chairman of the commission stands doc. Dr. Vladimir Puskas (Faculty of Technology, Novi Sad), a man of science, that the blind test and that, consequently, no lies, no deception. Ideal family Radević a small winery of excellent wines, and not go to competitions and collecting awards. To do this, do not even need, because in mid-April the first shipment, through the Port of Bar, he went to America, and two restaurants in Manhattan, guests will have the privilege to drink Montenegrin wines from the winery "Radević".

Their vineyards are represented by three varieties of red grapes: Chabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Cormorant (which is the backbone of their winery), and the white, Žižak (indigenous variety from the environment of Tivat, which dates from the time of Queen Teuta, III in. BC) and two spicy white – Gewurztraminer (Italy) and Malmsey aromatics (Istria).
– Wines we have given the names of the grape varieties. This year, the first time we made an exception for evaluation and a liqueur wine (instead Liqueur White wine Chardonnay, 17% alcohol), christened the name of my wife, Renee. This wine won the first gold medal for our winery and the first wine that has requested registration of the Ministry of Agriculture has just liqueur wine from Montenegro.

Renee Lacy-Radević a criminologist by profession specialist for juvenile delinquency. For a while he worked as a professor of foreign languages at the Faculty of Economics in Podgorica, 24 hours a day mother with great love helping her around the vineyard and winery. With them were Hana and Nicholas, children from first marriages spouses. There is also Gojko brother Dr. Goran Radevic, today partner, who first came to the aid when it should plow the land, plant the vine, which completes the idyllic picture of a small family business.
Basement "Radević" produces only Barrique wines in oak barrels that come from a small family company, the fourth generation of coopers from California, which is another confirmation that the Montenegrin-American mix, with immense love invested in everything that is done, a combination that gives excellent results. In addition to wine, visitors to their winery can find products such as organic honey, essential oil, cognac and brandy. With nature in nature, because it is so beautiful, life motto family Radević that their personal example shows the advantages of the lifestyle. Our family-owned winery is committed to quality wines and to protecting  resources for the future. They practice sustainable and Fish Friendly Farming and  are Sonoma County’s first carbon neutral winery. HISTORY Rod Strong established their heritage Sauvignon Blanc vineyard in 1971, naming it Charlotte’s Home in honor of his wife.

Today that vineyard remains the core of Charlotte’s Home Sauvignon Blanc, along with other select estate vineyards in the Alexander Valley as well as the Russian River Valley. THE VINEYARDS 2013 was the kind of growing season that most would wish they could have every year: a dry, frost-free spring, a warm summer without heat spikes, and a warm rain free autumn that allows for picking all varieties in their turn when they are perfectly mature.

This Sauvignon Blanc was harvested from vineyards in Russian River Valley and Alexander Valley between August 21st and September 17th. TASTING NOTES Light, crisp, and highly aromatic, the warmer climate Alexander Valley fruit gives this wine ripe peach, tangerine, and pineapple character, while the ocean cooled Russian River Valley fruit offers citrus, lemon grass, and slightly herbaceous qualities. Together, the two valleys make a classic Sonoma County Sauvignon Blanc that is fresh, lively, and will drink beautifully over the next 1 to 2 years. Delicious to quaff, it supports seafood, chicken, creamy cheeses and nuts to perfection.

CHARLOTTE’S HOME

ALEXANDER VALLEY

45 Acres | Established 1971 | Replanted 1991 and 1994

Tucked between Alexander’s Crown and a bend in the winding Russian River that flows through Alexander Valley, Charlotte’s Home was named for Rod Strong’s wife Charlotte. Here, the deep soils and gravel pockets favor Sauvignon Blanc. Charlotte’s Home vineyard must be harvested in several passes: the gravel areas ripen first, giving ripe pear and melon character. Later-ripening vines on deeper soils provide lively crisp citrus flavors to the blend. Charlotte’s Home continues to provide the heart of the perennial favorite Charlotte’s Home Sauvignon Blanc.

GROWING SEASON:
2011 growing season was one of the
wettest in Oregon wine history. Many

of nervousness that the rain may keep

brix of sugar would not rise in the cold
temperature but had hopes that with
more hang time that flavors would
develop. His risk paid off, in early
November there was about a week of
dry weather and we hit the crush pad
full steam ahead. Flavors developed
nicely, we were even impressed with
the results after such a cool weather
year.

Artezin Petite Sirah Is A Winner

image

Once used primarily as a blending grape to provide color
and structure, Petite Sirah has proven it can stand on its own,
yielding complex, intense and ageworthy wines. Mendocino
County, with its warmer Mediterranean climate, is an ideal location
for this varietal. Warm days allow the fruit to ripen fully, producing
powerful, richly flavored wines. This Petite Sirah comes from several
vineyards in eastern Ukiah Valley, near Lake Mendocino.

The color is dark red, almost black, with violet hues. Bright aromas
with dark and brooding fruit of blackberries, dry forest and exotic
spices with nuances of leather and tar. Flavors of black cherry,
cassis, nutmeg and allspice with a mouthfeel that is highly textured,
like velvet, and a very slight grip that is beneficial for aging. This
reflects the mature tannin profile gained by extra “hang time” on
the vine, a hallmark of “new era” Petite Sirahs. This wine pairs with
hearty fare such as grilled meats, osso bucco, venison and red pasta
sauces. It also goes well with blue cheeses like Stilton and Gorgonzola
and other strong cheeses. For fun, try it with chocolate truffles or a variety of nuts.

J PINOT GRIS, CALIFORNIA 2011

LabelPinot Gris comes in many different styles. At J,it is crisp, with bright fruit expression, and a touch of minerality. As always, it begins in the vineyard. The myriad of Russian River Valley estate vineyards provide fruit that comes from well-drained soils rich in nutrients. J’s  viticulturist works with each vineyard site to ensure that the soil type, vine canopy selection, natural pest management, and timing for the harvest pick are all aligned with our Winemaker’s vision for handcrafting Pinot Gris that is perfectly balanced with acidity and fruit. Not a small accomplishment given the fruit’s complexity.

Similar to their Chardonnays, they whole-cluster press the grapes utilizing our Coquard press minimizing harsh components from the grape skins mingling with the juice. The wine is fermented and cooled slowly in stainless steel tanks at 55 degrees to preserve the fruit’s integrity. No malolactic fermentation occurs during this process. After fermentation, aging in the stainless steel tanks begins for several months prior to bottling.Pinot Gris Sign

PROCESSING

Whole grape clusters were hand-harvested, and then pressed gently to minimize the extraction of harsh components from the skins and seeds. The wine from each appellation was broken into multiple lots and exposed to a variety of yeasts. The wine was fermented and cooled slowly in stainless steel tanks at 55 degrees to preserve the freshness of the fruit. There was no malolactic fermentation in this process.

AGING

After fermentation the lots were aged separately in stainless steel tanks. Once the wine lots naturally settled and clarified, they were blended together. This allowed the development of a range of aromatic and flavor components that ultimately melded to create a layered, complex wine.

TASTING NOTES

This Pinot Gris has an enticing bouquet of Fuji apple, ripe cantaloupe, and apricot. The crisp, clean mouthfeel is bursting with flavors of lemon and lime. A hint of kiwi and sweet orange blossom honey on the palate complements the fruit and acid. The lingering finish invites you to relax and enjoy another taste. In fact, it is the perfect sipper when entertaining with friends. This layered and well-balanced wine is a great accompaniment to a variety of foods, from Japan and Mexico, to India and China, all accented with a variety of spices.
