One Good Turn For an Amazing
$4.95
Falling Star
Falling Star is a 'second label' of the Trapiche winery. The
goal is to produce high quality, everyday wines at remarkably low prices. All
grapes are hand-harvested from Trapiche's Mendoza vineyard holdings, and the
winemaking process takes place at the Trapiche winery. So, Falling Star
benefits from the same vineyard principles, enology practices, and high-tech
operations that make the leading wines of Argentina.
Available with a
user-friendly screw top and at a suggested retail price of $4.99, Falling Star
is a perfect house wine.

Wine Type: Dry White
Grape Type: 100%
Chardonnay.
Country: Argentina
Region: Mendoza
Vinification: The
grapes are selected from Trapiche's Santa Rosa and Alto Verde vineyards in the
province of Mendoza. The fruit is hand harvested and transported back to the

allowed to macerate at 50°F for five hours. It is then lightly pressed
pneumatically and allowed to cold settle for 36 hours at 41°F; fermentation is
also thermoregulated (59°F) for 21 days. The wine is bottled four to five days
after the harvest after a light filtration and selectively, has wood
influences.
Tasting Notes: Yellow
color with slight green reflections. Aromas of citrus and apple are noted with
quite a bit of richness on the palate. Well-balanced with a good finish. It is
light- to medium-bodied and will match nicely with seafood, poultry, pork, and
vegetarian dishes.
Food Match: salmon,
salads, pork, grilled vegetables, fish, chicken.

province of Mendoza. The fruit is hand harvested and transported back to the
winery in small plastic crates to avoid damage. The fruit is destemmed and
crushed; half the fruit is then allowed to macerate naturally, the other half
undergoes a cold soak. Fermentation occurs at controlled temperatures (75°F)
for 14 days. Certain lots undergo malolactic in older oak barrels. After a
settling period, the lots are blended and bottled four to five months after the
harvest after a light filtration.
